StatSheet's Southland Player of the Week for February 6th goes to Brandon Davis from Lamar. StatSheet's Southland Freshman of the Week goes to Nicholls State's Sam McBeath. Finally, Texas-San Antonio's Kannon Burrage is the StatSheet Southland 6th Man of the Week.

Davis was the best in the Southland in three pointers (4.5 per game). He also tallied respectable numbers with 5 rebounds per game and 22 points per game. The Lamar senior put these numbers up in wins against Southeastern Louisiana and Texas-San Antonio.

Davis topped all scoring for the Cardinals with 21 points while also adding 7 rebounds in a big 83-59 win against Southeastern Louisiana. He followed that up by leading the team in scoring with 23 points plus an additional 3 rebounds in an 80-66 victory over Texas-San Antonio.

This is the first time that Brandon Davis has been named the StatSheet Southland Player of the Week. However, he has received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is Anthony Miles, a senior from Lamar. Honorable mention goes to senior Devon Lamb from Lamar. Shamir Davis finished eighth and was the highest ranking player from Northwestern State.

StatSheet Southland Freshman of the Week: Nicholls State's Sam McBeath

Sam McBeath played an average of 26 minutes starting both games for Nicholls State. He bested all Southland freshmen in three pointers (2.5 per game). In a late 65-61 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, McBeath rang up 18 points and 7 rebounds. Against Texas State, in a massive 96-75 win, he totaled 5 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

This is the second StatSheet Southland Freshman of the Week award for Sam McBeath. Trevon Lewis from Nicholls State gets runner-up. Desharick Guidry from McNeese State receives honorable mention.

StatSheet Southland 6th Man of the Week: Texas-San Antonio's Kannon Burrage

Junior Kannon Burrage, a 6-3 reserve guard, averaged 29 minutes of action over two games for the Roadrunners. In a 67-66 loss to Texas-Arlington, Burrage led all Roadrunners in scoring with 21 points and contributed 3 steals. Then in an 80-66 loss to Lamar, he racked up 13 points and 3 rebounds.

This makes 3 times that Kannon Burrage has won the StatSheet Southland 6th Man of the Week award this season. Our own James Hulbin is runner up. Our own Gary Stewart receives honorable mention. Northwestern State has one StatSheet Southland Player of the Week win this season.
